Amors take court for a ride
A mother and son were yesterday accused of "taking the court for a ride" after failing to turn up to be sentenced for a string of offences, including animal cruelty.
Liskeard magistrates were expecting to sentence Yvonne Amor and her son Richard for a total of 19 offences committed last year.
On May 23, Mrs Amor, 61, of Wetherham, St Tudy, near Bodmin, was found guilty of failing to produce insurance and MoT documents.
She entered a guilty plea for having no insurance and driving an unlicensed vehicle.
At the same hearing, Richard Amor was prosecuted by Cornwall County Council's Trading Standards on nine counts - the majority in breach of agricultural regulations and one offence of animal cruelty.
On Mr Tregida's request, magistrates granted a warrant for the arrest of mother and son without bail.
