Wedding

On Saturday 20th September, Tamsin Bunney, (daughter of Angela of St Mabyn and Peter of Eastbourne) married Ian Ford (son of Grant and Yvonne Ford of Isle of Wight) in St Mabyn Church. The weather was perfect and the bride achieved her dream of a traditional country wedding in Cornwall. It was hard to believe that she had made her own exquisite Victorian style wedding dress from authentic Victorian lace and silk; even her stockings were antique silk. The ceremony was conducted by Rev Margaret Millson and it was good to hear the organ once again – now back in service and played by Dr Geoffrey Gibbon.
The ceremony was followed by a reception in St Mabyn Village Hall which had been imaginatively and amazingly transformed by the wedding party. In traditional manner, the flowers and decorations were gathered by hand from a variety of sources and very artistically arranged by family and friends into beautiful arrangements that filled the hall. All food and drink were exclusively from local sources in keeping with the Cornish theme.
The wedding celebrations continued into the evening when the extremely versatile Cornish band “Gwelhellin Goth” entertained guests with music for dancing.
The happy couple are spending their honeymoon in Vienna.
