JULY JAZZ NIGHT

The Friends of St Mabyn Church (reg charity no 1105840) are busy organising their annual ‘Jazz on the Green’ fundraiser, performed by the Bodmin College Jazz Orchestra under their new Musical Director, Ben Simpson. The band will perform on the Green behind the school in St Mabyn on Saturday 11th July from 6.30-9pm. Entry is £5 for adults and £3 for under 18s. Children under 6 years old are FREE! This is a very informal family occasion where the energetic dance, the kids have fun and everyone has a wonderful time. Please bring chairs and picnics as refreshments are not available on site, although snacks may be available from the village shop or nearby Inn.
If wet, the band will perform in the historic St Mabyn Church, which is well known not only for having the second highest tower in Cornwall but was also the Church used for filming the wedding scenes in the last Doc Martin series on ITV.
This will be Bodmin College Jazz Orchestra’s last performance of the school year and half the proceeds from the event will go to the Orchestra, which has one year remaining in which to raise money for its tour of the USA in 2010. The other half will go to The Friends of St Mabyn Church. These extremely talented youngsters never fail to give a very varied and pleasing performance so please give them some well deserved support. Enquiries: 01208 841607.
