Parish Council

Agreed minutes of the Meeting of St Mabyn Parish Council held on Tuesday, 3rd November 2009 at 7.30pm in the St Mabyn Memorial hall.
Present:  Cllrs. L Wood (Chairman), K Brown (Vice Chairman), R Heath, I Kemp, A Titcomb, C Hodges,  C Barry,  H Barrett,  Ross Francis. Also attending:  J Hoskin (Parish Clerk) One member of the public. Prior to the beginning of the meeting, Mr Ross Francis signed his Declaration of Acceptance of Office as the newly co-opted parish councillor.
Public Session:  Mr James Mutton of Burlerrow Farm explained his plans for the farm and the future of the agricultural enterprise, which included the installation of a wind turbine.
Planning Applications / Planning Matters: 
2009/01450  A Willis, Tregarden, St Mabyn – Listed Building Consent for the adaption of ruined (roofless) shed in curtilage of Listed Building to form Mirador (viewing platform) partial demolition of stone walls. No objections / Support. 
2009/01478  Midas Homes Ltd, land between Chapel Lane, Chestnut Drive, St Mabyn Residential development comprising the erection of thirty five dwellings with associated infrastructure and external works / landscaping. As the application had been received by the Clerk late. It was resolved to defer this application until the next meeting in December.  The application was passed to the Parish Council Planning Committee. 
Longstone – Agency Agreement with Cornwall Council:  Awaiting agreement documents.  The Clerk, Cllr L Wood and Cllr A Titcomb had met Mr Doney (Cornwall Council) on site to discuss the grass cutting etc. 
Playing Field / Provision of new Play Equipment: The new disabled swing had been installed.  The Chairman had obtained an alternative quotation for a roundabout. Sarah Sims (Community Network Manager) was able to assist with searches for further grant funding. The outstanding work, as identified in the ROSPA report, was being completed.  The picnic table was also to be repaired. 
St Mabyn CE VA School:  It was believed that investigations into a proposed site for a new school at Longstone had been withdrawn.
