CELEBRATION OF LOVE, MARRIAGE AND COMMITMENT
On 20th, 21st and 22nd August, St Mabyn Church will be the venue for a three day Celebration of Love, Marriage and Commitment. Reverend Margaret Millson is hoping that all local Parishes will become involved and that this will be a well-supported and happy community event.
The Celebration will include an exhibition of wedding and bridesmaids dresses, pageboy outfits, wedding hats, wedding photos and albums - in fact, anything wedding related. Everyone is invited to loan their wedding finery, wedding photos and albums and, if anyone has a mannequin that could be used for displaying dresses, it would be very much appreciated. Dresses that are family heirlooms would be most welcome, especially if they are accompanied by the bride's photograph.
Light refreshments will be available in the church during the event and a BBQ is planned for the evening of Friday 20th. There will be no charge for the BBQ, which will be free to all. On the evening of Saturday 21st The Wadebridge Male Voice Choir will perform in the Church (for which a small charge will be made) and, on the evening of Sunday 22nd, the Celebration will close in the church with Songs of Praise, at which it is very much hoped the Deanery choir will be able to perform. During Songs of Praise, couples will be invited to re-affirm their wedding vows if they wish.
Further activities to take place during the event are in the pipeline, details of which will be forthcoming in due course. In the meantime, offers of help toward the success of this event would be very much appreciated. Donations of flowers to decorate the Church would also be gratefully received as would cake and biscuits for refreshments in the Church.
