FRIENDS OF ST MABYN CHURCH

Repairs and decoration to the church ceiling meant that the Liskerret Male Voice Choir and Take Note concert on the 7th November had to be transferred to St Mabyn Village Hall.   Having to accommodate nearly 50 performers as well as an audience initially appeared to be quite daunting, especially as the stage could not be used for acoustic reasons.  However, the choir was well up for the challenge and, with the aid of their new staging, things could not have turned out better.  Ladies group "Take Note" complimented the choir beautifully.

It was such a pity that just a few more people didn't turn out for what was a wonderfully entertaining evening with a lively mix of humour as well as vocals of an exceptionally high standard.   Accolades were extremely heart warming:  "Fantastic night, uplifting, humorous, and we both enjoyed it immensely." "The best Sunday night's entertainment I've had in a long, long, time." "What a treat - it doesn't get any better than that" etc etc.  Not surprisingly, we hope very much that it will not be too long before the Liskerret MVC makes a very welcome return to St Mabyn.
The evening was marred only by the fact that, as the ground was waterlogged, we were unable to take advantage of the field that James Mutton had very generously agreed we could use for parking.  Thus, we apologize to anyone who was affected by the temporary traffic gridlock which served, once again, to illustrate the desperate need for a dedicated car park in St Mabyn!
