Solar power station

A network of ten solar panel stations is planned at sites across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and will apparently treble the amount of cheap energy generated by the sun across the country.
The first solar station will be built on a 15-acre site between St Kew and St Mabyn in north Cornwall and will start generating power from April 2011 subject to planning permission.
Benbole Energy Farm (BEF) is working with the Renewable Energy Cooperative to install the 2MW photovoltaic farm.

Green energy may be desirable but it is misleading to suggest that it is relatively cheap. As the Institution of Engineering & Technology July 2009 report says "Renewable energy, whether it be wind, solar, biofuels, or tidal, is seen as a key technology to curb climate change, but all this comes at a high cost"
