A Feast of Music

It was a full house in St Mabyn church on 27th August when MJ-UK Music and Arts from Cirencester gave an outstanding performance to an extremely delighted audience.   Our beautiful church was magically transformed into pure theatre for the night by concert promoter, David Hudson, and few were prepared for the treats in store.
International mezzo soprano, Maria Jagusz, gave a stunning performance, especially  when her rendition of The Holy City inspired some extremely enthusiastic audience participation.  The highly acclaimed ‘The Black Feathers’ duo demonstrated beautiful harmony in their typically unique style and the incredibly versatile Ben Maggs brought the house down with his comedy version of O Sole Mio.
Unfortunately, space prohibits individual credit to each of the other 20 or so young highly trained performers.  Suffice to say that they each, and collectively, demonstrated a massive talent presented with great humour and professionalism.
Maria’s dedication to the task of fulfilling the potential of these young performers is quite inspirational and everyone present was privileged to enjoy the fruits of her labour.
Needless to say the evening ended with a very enthusiastic standing ovation from a very receptive audience, and accolades are still pouring in!  We obviously now have a ready audience when, hopefully, MJ-UK return to St Mabyn church.  We’ve had quite a few requests for advance notice of their return from those who are anxious to beat the next stampede for tickets.  Please contact Audrey Cooke 01208 841607 or David Hudson 01208 863485 for further information.
