Hello, I was evacuated to St. Mabyn in 1942, I went to the village school for 3 years. I lived with Mr+Mrs Bastard in the little terraced house with a pump in the front garden( nr. the Pub ) when Mrs Bastard died I moved to Kelly Park House, also with a Mr+Mrs Bastard. They had cows and chickens and slaughtered pigs. I remember the vicar, the Rev Longmore, nick named sniffer,as he did a loud sniff after almost every sentence. I would love to go back to St. Mabyn but my state pension doesn't stretch to holidays I'm afraid, Iam 71 now, but remember your village well.
Regards sheila
