CAROL SERVICE IN A BARN

St Mabyn Young Farmers and Reverend Margaret Millson, Vicar of St Mabyn Church, are organizing a very special carol service on Friday 12th December at 7.30pm.
Everyone is welcome at what promises to be a truly unique event which will take place in a barn at Stone Farm, Longstone (the Grigg’s farm near the Longstone crossroads on the B3266). It is hoped that arrangements can be made for animals to be present as there will be a tableau dedicated to St Francis of Assisi, who celebrated Christmas by setting up the first known three-dimensional Nativity scene in the town of Greccio near Assisi, around 1220. He used real animals to create a living scene so that worshippers could contemplate the birth of the child Jesus in a direct way.
There will be music, a choir and readings. There will also be an opportunity to choose your own carol at what will undoubtedly be an extremely uplifting and inspirational service.
Ample parking is available and everyone should wrap up warmly and bring a torch. Soup and mince pies will be served after the service and children will be especially welcome.
